The current energy and climate crisis calls for immediate action in replacing fossil fuels with those derived from renewable sources. Energreen process performs the direct liquefaction of biomass to produce a liquid biofuel cement industry an aqueous solution added-value compounds further processing. present work details development Aspen Plus® model simulate this process. proposed describes using simplified reaction kinetics thermodynamic models. was validated data real pilot plant deviation 6.4%. simulation, conducted several samples variable compositions, showed that is robust enough deal different compositions and, due substitution presently used plant, it will allow savings up USD 102,000 per year be achieved. Several analyses sensitivity results variables were performed possible identify reactor temperature activation as most impactful parameters on output.
